Morgan Farms Development

Traverse City, Michigan

Traverse Architectural Group worked closely with Mansfield & Associates, land use consultants, and the planned unit development team, providing architectural design services.  Morgan Farms is a true mixed-use development offering a distinct neighborhood feel that captures the heritage and spirit of Traverse City's traditional neighborhoods.  Residential property choices include bay view building sites, wooded building sites, townhouses, single family homes, residential condominiums, residential apartments, senior housing and combined living / work units.  Also included in Morgan Farms Master Plan are retail shops, restaurants, commercial offices, banking and other services.  A community center will serve as a focal point and provide a gathering place for community meetings and events, a fitness center, day-care center, and rental opportunities for businesses.

Traverse Architectural Group provided concept designs of various building types, focusing on the "Craftsman Style" influences.  Commercial mixed use buildings were modeled after turn-of-century farmhouses w/ generous scale and great sloping roofs.  Buildings used cascading roofs that sloped down to the edges where the centralized height of the building focused on the entrance.
